I have been completely satisfied with the work and prices at The Shop. Jason is very friendly, flexible, and easy to get a hold of. In my experience, he has gotten repairs done extremely quickly, and his work has been excellent. He will happily talk you through any problems you're having with your car. When I first took my car to him, in addition to the necessary repair, he did a thorough inspection of the car and warned me of issues that I might have to deal with in the future (and even included pictures of relevant parts). He goes above and beyond what I have experienced at other shops I've been to in Boulder. Highly recommended!

I cannot begin to describe how amazing Shop Automotive and John have been to our family without first describing a bit of the horror we experienced with Christian Brother’s automotive (CB). We brought our little Saturn Ion to CB for an inspection, oil change, and figure out why our car was making “clunking” noises and to potentially get our door that wouldn’t open repaired. The clunking was coming from the sway bar system and they recommended that we replace everything… the sway bar itself, the bushings and the links. They that we get an alignment done because of doing “front end work”. They also charged us $90 to “diagnose” that our car door needed a new latch kit, they then wanted to charge us another $270 for parts and labor on top of their diagnoses to fix it. Luckily I ran from them. My father is a mechanic and was able to offer some insight and told me to shop around. That led me to Shop Automotive and John. I dropped the car off with John and in an hour he did a once over on the car, found the same issues that CB had found, oh and he FIXED THE DOOR. HE FIXED THE DOOR IN UNDER AN HOUR. No new parts, no $90 diagnostics… fixed. He also assured me the sway bar and the bushings were fine. He found parts WAY less expensive for the same quality as compared to CB He also was confused when I had said CB Auto recommended an alignment because I was having “front end work done”. Sure enough upon further research, the sway bar has nothing to do with the alignment on the car. They were just trying to make more money off of my family. So here is the run down: If you want a place that prices fair and looks for the best deal for you… GO TO SHOP AUTOMOTIVE If you want honest diagnostics… GO TO SHOP AUTOMOTIVE If you want clear communication and reasonable solutions… GO TO SHOP AUTOMOTIVE Thank you so much for everything John.

The Shop basically crafted a completely new vehicle for us out of a 1990 Toyota 4Runner. John expertly rebuilt the engine and front end suspension of the vehicle. For us, it was much more practical to rebuild than to buy an unknown vehicle off of Craigslist, or to finance something. The Shop communicated with us every step of the way, letting us know if an unforeseen issue arose. The cost was well within what we expected, and worth every dollar. We definitely will be bringing our other vehicles to The Shop. - Mimi W. and Carol W.

These guys were really great. They were very friendly, professional, and very efficient. It is so refreshing to go to a shop where the mechanics don't seem annoyed that you are there. They know a ton and seem to really love what they do. I would recommend these guys more highly than anyone else that I have been to in the eight years that I have lived in Colorado. Overall a wonderful experience!

Jason has done a great job on 4 different cars. The first thing he did for me was to fix a Ford F250 stranded up in the mountains. He came to the vehicle, diagnosed the problem, went and got parts, and fixed it where it sat. Awesome! He's since done a variety of repairs on an Audi, Ford Taurus X, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. He's well versed in cars, and gave great advice about what was worth doing and what wasn't. I highly recommend The Shop Automotive!

Highly recommended! Jason deviates from most of my experiences with automotive care technicians, in that he offers what we all crave in personal services: integrity, competence, promptness, quality, and affordability. We're all busy, needing to be careful with our dollars, and requiring our vehicles in our daily lives, but we're usually at a knowledge deficit when it comes to making good choices about repairs. Jason mitigates these concerns with unambiguous explanations, clear recommendations, and high-quality results that line up with his promises.

I've taken my '08 Honda Civic Si coupe to The Shop for everything from routine maintenance to a full blown engine overhaul (valve replacement) and have always been impressed with the service, quality, and cost of the work completed. The Shop is unique in that they offer creative/high quality solutions for repairs that dealers charge twice as much (or more) for the same repair. They also back up all the services with a guarantee that the work and parts will perform as intended or the cost is on them to make it right. The owner has always confirmed the planned work, parts used, and time frame to complete with me before the keys were handed over which is greatly appreciated. Bottom Line - I'll continue bringing my hard earned money here for all my vehicle's needs. Keep up the great work!

I was putting new rotors on our Subaru and could not crack a bolt loose for the life of me. It was so frustrating, and I didn't want to take it to a shop because most of them would make me pay them to replace the rotor when I had already boughten a new one and was so close to getting it done myself. I gave Jason a ring and he was at my place in less than 2 hours. He cracked the bolt loose and even helped me finish the job for an incredible price- way less than what I would have payed anywhere else! Thanks for the help, Jas! I look forward to taking our cars to you in the future!
